Since the 18th century, the SCHAFFHAUSER family has been cultivating the land and the vines on the heights of WETTOLSHEIM.
Over the years, the know-how and the exceptional terroirs have been passed on from generation to generation.
1984: First vintage signed Jean-Paul Schaffhauser
Until the 1980s, the wines produced by the estate were sold to various merchants. It is from the 1984 vintage that Madeleine and Jean-Paul Schaffhauser decided to bottle and sell their production at the estate.

Until the 1980s, the wines produced by the estate were sold to various merchants. It is from the 1984 vintage that Madeleine and Jean-Paul Schaffhauser decided to bottle and sell their production at the estate.
From 1996: development of the estate
Catherine and Jean-Marc, that succeeded their parents, focused their efforts on 3 main areas:
- The extension of the vineyard over different villages and terroirs.
- The modernization of the production tool "to work in a precise way to obtain great wines".
- And direct sales "to be closer to our customers and satisfy them".
2018: A new generation, new commitments ...
By starting the conversion to an organic production, Antoine commits the estate to a more respectful approach to nature, soils and the environment.
"The first wines from organic grapes will be on sale in the spring of 2023".
