"A terroir: A subtle harmony between soil, climate and the work of the winemaker."
A privileged location
The Alsatian vineyard, implanted on the Vosges hills of the Rhine fault, deploys in its central part a great geological variety, and offers a multiplicity of soils of an unequalled richness and diversity.
The Colmar region is sheltered from the oceanic influences by the Vosges mountain and benefits from a precocious and dry micro-climate that is favorable to the finesse of the Alsatian grapes varieties.
A fragmented vineyard
Our 16-hectare estate is composed of more than fifty parcels scattered over 11 communes around Colmar.
This mosaic results, through subtle blending, in vintages where the grape varieties express themselves in a harmonious and regular way.
Exceptional soils
Our whole vineyard benefits from all our attention but our parcels in the Appellation Grand Cru Steingrubler and Hengst are worked with even more respect and rigor. They give birth to authentic and racy wines, and express the terroir and man's know-how with perfection.
> The Grand Cru Steingrubler
Meaning "stone quarry", it is located on the heights of Wettolsheim at an altitude of 300 meters on a dominant marl, limestone, and sandstone soil. There, we harvest Riesling and Gewurztraminer with a remarkable richness and fruitiness.
> The Grand Cru Hengst
From the German "Hengst" meaning "stallion", these purebred grapes produce powerful, complex and long-keeping wines. Overlooking Wettolsheim and Wintzenheim, this Grand Cru terroir lies on a marl and limestone soil and rises to an altitude of 330 m.
Our Pinot Gris will surprise you with its racy character and notes of candied fruits.
